I'm a grad student in the big wide world of UK academia. It's fun, most of the time. Except when I'm searching desperately for some obscure article and I can't find it anywhere. Then it sucks. The blog's name comes from Sam Selvon's brilliant novel The Lonely Londoners, which I heartily recommend to all and sundry along with its sequel, Moses Ascending. Despite the fact that I am neither lonely nor a lifelong Londoner, I couldn't resist the assonance/alliteration combo.
